2018 will mark my sixteenth year teaching Studio Art at The Brearley School, and my third as Director of The CoLaboratory - Brearley’s MakerSpace program. I use technologies inspired by the “Maker Movement” - like 3D printing - to create new curriculum and enhance existing pedagogy. I also help other interested teachers do the same, and run Brearley's "Middle School MAKERCAMP!" where interested Faculty and Students work side-by-side for two weeks exploring the creative potential of the new digital-era tools. We prototype innovative educational projects in a low-stress environment, with an eye toward implementing discoveries and best practices into Brearley’s core curriculum.

As a Studio Art Teacher at Brearley, I work with a group of very talented practicing artists to advance a traditional, "hands-on" and project-based curriculum that has been vibrant and vital across all grade levels for decades. We emphasize creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural awareness through sophisticated long-term projects.

I have taught painting, drawing, and sculpture to groups of students ranging from Kindergarten through 12th grade since 1998, and have taught painting and drawing at the Undergraduate level as a Visiting Professor in Colorado College’s Summer Program. In 2012 I co-created a three-week intensive course for professional teachers who wanted to integrate visual arts into other subject areas - "Cultivating Creativity Through Visual Literacy" - offered during Colorado College’s Masters of Arts in Teaching program, and expanded in 2013.
